Community Connection
Tackling loneliness, chronic pain, and health inequality through impactful community coaching projects.
It's a pleasure to work with public bodies, health providers, charities and community groups, supporting them to provide health and connection focused community coaching interventions.
I specialise in pain management-processing, breaking unhelpful habits, creating healthier lifestyles, countering isolation and loneliness.
My approach is caring, patient, motivational, and participant-focused. I co-design the sessions where possible.

The Active Way, a Social Prescribing and Active Travel initiative, has included supporting individuals living with varying degrees of chronic pain in their daily lives. As part of this work, we invited Rob to collaborate with The Active Way and the Pain Café group—a space where participants come together to explore and share strategies for managing long-term conditions, including persistent pain.
From the outset, Rob was a pleasure to work with. We quickly established a framework that aligned with the group’s needs, thanks to his clear, prompt communication and collaborative approach. While maintaining a relaxed and approachable presence, Rob was always very professional and demonstrated a high level of expertise in his role as a coach.
Participants deeply valued their time with Rob, benefiting significantly from the diverse and thoughtfully designed sessions delivered over the 12-week programme. His passion for supporting individuals in managing their own health was evident throughout. Rob has the ability as a coach to create a safe, inclusive environment that empowers participants to reflect on and, where appropriate, challenge their own behaviours that may be limiting their potential for wellbeing.
Feedback from the group highlighted how Rob nurtured a space where participants felt safe to explore in depth their experiences of living with long-term pain. His facilitation enabled individuals to share deeply personal stories, often leading to new insights and more positive relationships with their health conditions. This, in turn, strengthened bonds within the group and fostered a collective commitment to ongoing mutual support.
It has been clear the benefits that have come about as a direct result of working with Rob, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, ‘Magnificent People Coaching’ to other groups or individuals who are considering a coaching framework to support them with goals around improving health and wellbeing.

"I had the opportunity to collaborate with Rob Wicke in delivering wellbeing workshops for the Big Local Trust worker programme. Our sessions focused on supporting the health and wellbeing of Big Local workers.
Rob’s ability to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and tailor his approach to each participant was truly inspiring. Designing a workshop and working with a colleague requires certain skills, such as negotiation and a shared vision of what you want to deliver. Rob brought a wealth of expertise, an eye for detail, and a commitment to ensuring the sessions had real impact.
Most importantly, it was Rob’s warmth, professionalism, and genuine passion for helping others that made him an outstanding coach and a joy to work with.
